IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF SLEEP APNEA, TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS
Here are the steps you must take to take advantage of the treatment services offered by Thérapie CPAP Outaouais.
1. Have your doctor sign your prescription request form
To undergo a cardiorespiratory polygraphy at home, you need a doctor's prescription that requires this type of test.
2. Make an appointment with us
Once you have your prescription request, simply contact us to arrange an appointment at our office.
3. Take the test at home
A respiratory therapist from our office will lend you a cardiorespiratory polygraphy monitor and will explain how to install it yourself to monitor your sleep for an entire night in the comfort of your home. You will be given a questionnaire to be completed later.
4. Results and data analysis
You will be asked to bring back the monitor the next day so that we can download the data and ensure the validity of the information collected during the night. The data will then be sent to Cliniques Somnos to be analyzed and interpreted by a lung specialist.
5. Take note of your results
Further to the test, the interpretation of your cardiorespiratory sleep polygraphy is forwarded to your physician. If this interpretation of your test indicates that you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, your physician or the lung specialist shall prescribe the appropriate treatment.
6. If you need it, we will assist you with the right cpap machine
If your test results indicate that you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, your physician or the lung specialist will prescribe the appropriate treatment. If a CPAP treatment is warranted, a Thérapie CPAP Outaouais respiratory therapist will recommend the appropriate equipment for the treatment of your case and for your ultimate comfort.
7. Follow-up with your respiratory therapist
To ensure the effectiveness of the treatment prescribed, our respiratory therapist will closely follow-up with you with visits to the office, to the clinic or remotely via a modem connected to your device by wireless. The purpose is to provide you with moral support and to ensure that the treatment works for you.
